CAIRO: The Red Sea Ports Authority (RSPA) closed Monday four ports due to bad weather and wind speeds reaching 28 knots.

“The ports seeing suspensions of maritime movement are El Adabeya for goods shipment, Sokhna for containers, Zaytat petroleum port, and Port Tawfik for passengers,” announced RSPA spokesperson Abdel-Rahim Mostafa.

He noted that the ports were opened Sunday morning, but re-closed Monday due to the winds. For the second day the Alexandria and Dakhalia straits remain closed due to the bad weather, announced the spokesperson of Alexandria Port Authority

Egyptian Metrological Authority (EMA) experts predicted a cold wave with sandstorms to hit Egypt starting Saturday, advising people to wear sunglasses and dust masks. It is expected that the rain could fall on the northern parts of Egypt, with slight rains in Cairo.
