CAIRO: Mohamed Rabie al-Zawahriri, the brother of Al-Qaeda leader Ayman al-Zawahriri, has been released by an Egyptian court pending investigations over charges of “forming a terrorist cell,” Youm7 reported Tuesday.

On Oct. 15, 2015 the South Cairo Court upheld Zawahrir’s acquittal of charges of forming another terrorist organization affiliate with al-Qaeda and ruled death sentences against 10 convicts.

Although the acquittal, the presiding judge referred Zawahirir to the investigation into forming another “terrorist organization called the Victorious Sect.”

Further details to follow.
