CAIRO: President Abdel Fatah al Sisi has confirmed Egypt’s participation in the international specialized exhibition EXPO-2017, hosted by Astana, Youm7 reported.
Egypt’s participation in the international event will focus on issues related to the development of sustainable energy sources, said Sisi.
The remarks came after Sisi has signed an agreement with his Kazakhstani counterpart Nursultan Nazarbayev at the Akorda presidential palace in Astana Friday. Sisi arrived in Kazakhstan Friday as a part of an Asian tour includes Japan and South Korea.
The expo’s official theme is “Future Energy.” It is scheduled for June 10 to Sep. 10, 2017 and aims to create a global discussion between countries, international companies and the general public on ways to ensure safe and sustainable access to energy in order to reduce CO2 emissions.
During the two-day talks, the two leaders have also signed the Charter of the Islamic Organization for Food Security, according to Youm7.
