CAIRO: Egypt’s Sharm al Sheikh Resort city will host Sunday a pan-Arab conference that tackles the current challenges facing the Arab family, Social Solidarity Minister Ghada Wali was quoted by Youm7.
Organized by the Ministry of Social Solidarity in cooperation with the Arab League, the one-day conference aims to promote research on issues related to the family in the Arab world and also to generate evidence to inform family policies that promote the wellbeing of families, Wali said.
During the conference’s six sessions, several issues related to the Arab family will be discussed. Those issues include challenges and dangers facing the Arab family and ways to overcome them amid deteriorated security situation in the Middle East Region.
Bahrain Minister of Labor and Social Development Jameel bin Mohammad Ali Humaidan, Arab League Assistant Secretary General for social affairs Badr el Din Al Alaly, head of the executive bureau of the Council of Arab Social Affairs Ministers will be among the attendees.
According to Wali, the final session of the conference will be dedicated to declare an agenda, set by the conference members, to achieve the targets of 2030 sustainable development strategy with regard to the Arab family affairs.
