CAIRO: Two soldiers were killed and two were injured Saturday after a roadside bomb detonated on their route in south Rafah, a medical source in North Sinai told Youm7.

On Feb. 21, two civilians were killed and around 10 people were injured, including policemen and passersby after an armored vehicle crossed on an explosive device planted on a roadside in Arish.

Several roadside bombs have detonated in passing armored vehicles amid a series of attacks that resulted in hundreds of deaths among the armed forces and the police in North Sinai.  The attacks, mostly claimed by self-proclaimed Sinai Province, have resulted in casualties among citizens.

The army is going through a prolonged fight against “terrorism” in the peninsula, during which it claimed killing hundreds of militants and arresting many extremists
