CAIRO: Member of Parliament Akmal Kortam was referred to a criminal court over forgery per a Saturday order by Dokki Misdemeanor Court of Appeals, Youm7 reported.
Dokki Misdemeanor Court had issued a suspended sentence against the businessman to a year in prison and a bail of 1,000 ($127,) for submitting rigged documents to the government to facilitate his acquisition of a land.
A citizen who was trying to acquire the same land filed the lawsuit.
Kortam was a member of “For the Love of Egypt” list, which won the election in a landslide compared to other lists. He has been the head of the Conservatives Party, established in 2006, since 2011.
