CAIRO:  Explosives experts defused an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) in Giza’s district of Al Haram early Friday, Youm7 reported.

The homemade bomb was found in the vicinity of an oil station at Al Haram’s neighborhood of Mashaal; less than 500 meters east of Giza Pyramids.

The bomb squad at Giza Security Directorate was notified by civilians in the area and combed the area in search for other potential bombs.

Explosive devices have been frequently discovered in public areas throughout Egypt since the ouster of the Islamist president Mohamed Morsi following mass protests against his rule in June 2013.
