Nigeria to start camp Sunday ahead of 2-legged counter against Pharaohs

CAIRO: The Nigerian national football team is scheduled to start its training camp in Abuja Sunday ahead of two-legged encounter against Egypt in the African Cup of Nations (AFCON) 2017 qualifier, according to the Nigeria Football Federation webpage.

The team is scheduled to move to Nigeria’s city of Kaduna where they will face the Pharaohs on the first leg scheduled for March 25 while the return-leg is to take place in Egypt’s Alexandria, March 29.

On Thursday, the Nigerian team’s head coach Samson Siasia revealed the squad which is made up of 22 home-based players and 20 foreign-based players.

The Nigerian team is currently second in their AFCON 2017 qualifying group, with four points, two points behind the Pharaohs who top the four-team group.
