CAIRO: A car bomb exploded early Saturday outside a club in Giza’s upscale district of Mohandessin; no causalities were reported, Youm7 reported.

A number of cars were damaged outside Omani Students’ Club in Mohandessein’s Gaza Street, while windows of adjacent buildings have partially shattered.

Explosive experts inspected the area in anticipation of other possible bombs. Meanwhile, security forces combed the vicinity of the cordoned site.

No one has claimed its responsibility for the incident yet.

Since the ouster of former Islamist President Mohamed Morsi and the dispersal of pro-Muslim Brotherhood sit-ins in Rabaa and Nahdah squares where hundreds of protesters were killed, several attacks have been launched against security forces nationwide, particularly in restive North Sinai.

At least two police officers were killed and five policemen injured after a bomb exploded Jan. 29 in their armored vehicle in North Sinai’s town of Arish, Youm7 reported.
