CAIRO: French Foreign Minister Jean-Marc Ayrault is scheduled to arrive in Cairo on Wednesday in a two-day, state news agency MENA reported Saturday.
The visit comes in preparation for French President François Hollande’s upcoming visit to Egypt scheduled for April.
During his visit to Paris in Dec. 2015, Egyptian Minister of Commerce and Industry Tarek Kabil announced that an official French delegation would visit Egypt in the first quarter of 2016 to prepare for Hollande’s visit to Cairo.
The visit of the French President to Cairo is the second since President Abdel Fatah al Sisi assumed power in June 2014.
Hollande attended the inauguration of the new Suez Canal in August 2015.
