ANKARA: Turkey has no intention of sending refugees back to conflict zones after reaching a draft agreement on migration with the European Union and sees no legal hurdles to implementing the deal, Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu said on Wednesday.

The EU has largely accepted Turkey’s terms in the draft agreement, Cavusoglu said. Turkey agreed on Monday to take back all irregular migrants in exchange for more funding, an earlier introduction of visa-free travel to Europe for Turks, and a speeding up of Ankara’s long-stalled EU membership talks.
