CAIRO: A bird collided with an EgyptAir passenger plane on its descent to Heathrow Airport Friday evening, a source at the national carrier told Youm7.

The crash caused slight damage in the nose of the plane but it made a safe landing, said the source, adding that the incident caused a delay in the vessel’s scheduled return flight from London to Cairo.

The passengers of the returning flight no. 780 were housed in a hotel near the airport till the damage was fixed, said the source, their departure was re-scheduled to be at 2 p.m. Saturday.
