CAIRO: The Public Funds Prosecution has released Tuesday former Irrigation Minister Mohamed Nasr Allam on 100,000 EGP ($11,300) bail pending investigations into corruption charges, Youm7 reported.

The decision came after Allam was interrogated Tuesday over “facilitation of former MP Ahmed Koura’s seizure of state land and squandering public funds.”

The charges are based on a report, submitted by regulatory bodies, stating that Koura had sold state land without prior permission from the related authorities.

Allam was the Irrigation Minister from 2009 until the outbreak of the 2011 uprising the toppled Hosni Mubarak.
