CAIRO: President Abdel Fatah al Sisi met with Vodafone CEO Vittorio Colao Wednesday and discussed means to pump more investments on the Egyptian market and expand in other markets, Presidential spokesperson Alaa Youssef stated.
During the meeting, Sisi said that Egypt seeks to make a quantum leap in the communication sector and the quality of related services offered to citizens, said Youssef.
He added that Sisi and Colao discussed Egypt’s plans to establish technology areas in a number of Egyptian governorates “with the aim of building a strategy base to serve telecommunication and information technology companies.”
Sisi also praised the company’s activities and investments in the telecommunications sector in Egypt along with its projects in the domains of health, education, agriculture and the community development, said Youssef.
The meeting was attended by Communication and Information Technology Minister Yasser al Qady.
