CAIRO: A delegation from the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) left for Luxor Airport from Cairo for an inspection Friday, Youm7 reported.
The delegation arrived in Cairo Thursday from Paris, headed by ICAO’s Secretary-General Dr. Fang Liu.
Mohamed Rahma assumed the Cairo-based regional office of the organization, becoming the first Egyptian to be in the position. He is part of the Luxor Airport inspection, according to Youm7.
Since the crash of a Russian airplane over Sinai Oct. 31, Egyptian airports have come under scrutiny from several countries, which have dispatched security delegations to review security measures.
Egypt has also hired British Control-Risks to review safety procedures at airports in efforts to regain international confidence after several Western countries banned travelling to Egypt following the crash.
