CAIRO: The body of Egyptian national killed in an attempted robbery in Venezuela last week arrived at Cairo Airport Friday night, Youm7 reported.
On March 19, Abdel Rahman el-Sayed, 30, was attacked by assailants on motorbikes outside Simón Bolívar Airport, where he was shot dead after resisting a robbery attempt, according to news reports.
Authorities at Cairo Airport told Youm7 that the death report indicates that Sayed died as a result of severe bleeding skull after shooting.
Sayed’s relatives received the body and transferred it to Alexandria for burial.
News reports stated that Venezuelan police have arrested three suspects in connection with the murder of Sayed.
Sayed was reportedly coming from Frankfurt to work for PDVSA, the Venezuelan state-owned oil and natural gas Company, Al-Arabiya website quoted the Venezuelan news website El-Nacional.
