CAIRO: Alleged hijacker of EgyptAir flight MS181 Seif El-Din Mustafa Mohamed Imam is a convicted criminal and ex-prisoner, Youm7 reported official documents from the Egyptian Ministry of Interior.
He committed 16 crimes of forgery, theft, drug dealing, and drafting forged checks. He was arrested three times and sentenced to serve time in 2010; but during the January 25, 2011 uprising, he fled. However, in 2014, he turned himself to serve his term and in 2015 he was released.
Imam also founded a fake company, titled Seif El-Din for Food Imports and Exports, to cover his crimes, Youm7 reported.
The alleged hijacker was born on July 23, 1957. He lives in Helwan city, southern Cairo, and was disbarred from the Faculty of Law at Beirut Arab University (BAU) in Alexandria, according to his criminal record.
