Egypt PM receives Greek counterpart over bilateral relations

CAIRO: Prime Minister Hazem al-Beblawy, head of Egypt’s interim government, received his Greek counterpart in Cairo Thursday morning.

The meeting tackled various issues, with the men discussing bilateral relations between Egypt and Greece and ways to enhance cooperation in various fields.

Beblawy stressed in the meeting that his government is committed to the road map announced July 3, and added that expected parliamentary polls and presidential elections will be held on time.

Greek Prime Minister Antonis Samaras highlighted the necessity of shortening the interim period in Egypt. He suggested holding elections as soon as possible so Egypt can get back on the democratic track and restore calm to the society.
