CAIRO: The President of Kenya Uhuru Kenyatta is scheduled to arrive in Cairo Sunday for a two-day visit during which he will meet Egyptian President Abdel Fatah al Sisi, Youm7 reported.

The two leaders are also scheduled to review ways to enhance economic and political relations between the two countries.

Kenyatta’s visit, the first of its kind since Sisi assumed power in June 2014, comes after Egypt’s ministers of foreign affairs and trade paid a visit to Nairobi in January as a part of the country’s policy to support relations with African states.

The visit of the president of one of six countries of the Nile Equatorial lakes region comes amid ongoing tension between Egypt and Ethiopia over the latter’s construction of a dam on the Blue Nile.
