CAIRO: A total of 150 feddans have been allocated to establish a police training facility, per a decree by President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi Thursday.
The land is owned by the state, and will be a private property of the Interior Ministry to train security forces.
The Official Gazette, which reported the decree Thursday, did not mention the location of the land.
In January, Sisi also allocated 103 feddans to establish a new central prison. The land also became a private property of the Interior Ministry to build the prison, a camp for Giza security forces, and a training facility on Cairo-Asyut Western Road in Giza.
The decree to build a new prison was met with ridicule on social media, as Egyptian users claimed the prison would be built to accommodate an increasing number of detainees, rather than use the budget to launch an economic project.
