Egypt’s Suez Canal ports closed due to sandstorm

CAIRO: Egypt’s Port of Ain Sokhna was closed Saturday due to sandstorm and high speed of sea waves, said spokesperson of the Red Sea Port Authority Abdel-Rahim Mostafa.

Meanwhile, maritime navigation is normal in Suez Canal ports of Adabiya, Port Tawfik, and Al-Zaytat ports, he added in a statement.

Port Said Fishing port was also closed due to the bad weather amid continuous rainfall and lack of visibility, Youm7 reported.

Egypt’s Metrological Authority (EMA) has warned that unstable and hot weather, accompanied by sandstorm and rainfall will hit Egypt on Thursday and expected to last till Sunday.
