CAIRO: Togolese President Faure Gnassingbé arrived at Al-Azhar Monday to meet Grand Imam Ahmed Al-Tayeb, Youm7 reported.
Cairo security forces intensified security measures in the areas of Al Azhar headquarters following his visit.
Gnassingbé arrived in Cairo Sunday in an official visit, and met with President Abdel Fatah al Sisi which they discussed ways to boost bilateral ties between the two African states.
Ibrahim Mahlab, President Sisi’s assistant for Strategic and National Projects and former PM visited Togo early March and discussed with Gnassingbé means to strengthen bilateral cooperation. Egypt’s Arab Contractors Co. is currently carrying out a highway project in the African country.
