CAIRO: Eleven kilograms of heroin were seized at the Red Sea’s Nuweiba Port in South Sinai, inside the air conditioner of a truck coming from Jordan, Youm7 reported Tuesday.
Head of the Port Authority Hossam Nasr, assistant to the interior minister, reportedly received information about the truck before it arrived; and the police searched it thoroughly to find the drugs.
A total of 35 kilos of raw hashish were seized at the airport with a Kuwaiti passengers arriving from Morocco March 17.
Drugs are also occasionally seized at Cairo International Airport. A man was taken into custody March 6 for smuggling Tramadol in the diapers of his two children who were travelling with him.
