CAIRO: A plenary session kicked off Wednesday afternoon at Egypt’s House of Representative, and will conduct a confidence motionon the government’s policy statement, Youm7 reported.

Prime Minister Sherif Ismail along with most of his ministers, are present during the Wednesday’s session to answer lawmakers’ inquiries on the government program which was announced in a parliament session late March.

During the past three days, the parliament has held several plenary sessions to debate a report about the program prepared by 50 lawmakers.

According to the Egyptian constitution, if the government’s policy statement failed to gain a vote of confidence, a party with the majority of two thirds of the parliament members will be tasked with forming a new government.
