2 Egyptians deported from Italy for violating residency laws

CAIRO: Two Egyptians were deported from Italy Wednesday accompanied by three Italian security officers for violating residency laws, Youm7 reported.

The deportees arrived in Cairo International Airport on an Alitalia plane, a source at the airport told Youm7.

The two men informed the authorities during an investigation they had violated Italian residency laws.

In December 2015, 19 Egyptians were deported from Italy for having entered the country illegally via the Mediterranean. In November, 42 others were also deported from Italy over attempted illegal entry to its territories via the sea.

Italy has deported dozens of Egyptians in the past yeae; Egypt has also arrested hundreds of foreigners and Egyptians before sailing to Europe illegally.
