CAIRO: Defense Minister Sedki Sobhi on Saturday met with visiting U.S. Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Joseph F. Dunford and discussed ways to strengthening the security partnership between Egypt and the United States, Youm7 reported.
The meeting with attended by U.S. Ambassador to Egypt Stephen Beecroft, Egypt’s Chief of Staff Mahmoud Hegazy and senior Egyptian military leaders.
During the meetings, they discussed a number of issues, including the challenge of terrorism where cooperation between the two countries could be beneficial. They also discussed ways to boost military cooperation and exchange of expertise between the two countries.
