CAIRO: President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi and Monarch of the State of Bahrain Hamad bin Isa bin Salman Al Khalifa will hold a news conference Tuesday evening at Egypt’s Presidential Palace of Ittihadiya, according to a statement from the presidency.
The two leaders will sign a number of cooperation deals and memoranda of understanding (MoU), the statement added, noting that the conference will be held at 6:30 p.m. (Cairo time).
The visit aims to boost bilateral relations, particularly in the economic field, Bahraini ambassador to Cairo, Rashid bin Abdulrahman Al Khalifa, told the state-owned MENA news agency.
Sheikh Hamad visited Egypt in March 2015 when he headed a delegation in Sharm al Sheikh as part of the Egypt Economic Development Conference. He also attended the inauguration of the new Suez Canal in August 2015.
The investment volume of Bahrain in Egypt reached $955 million Aug. 31, 2015, according to a report issued from the General Authority for Investments and Free Zones.
