CAIRO: The International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) has officially warned it may freeze Egypt’s membership and suspending it internationally over the dissolution the Egyptian Football Association (EFA) per a court ruling, Youm7 reported Tuesday.
The FIFA letter has been sent to the EFA that will notify the Minister of Sports and Youth, said EFA spokesperson Azmy Megahed.
The board of the EFA and the board of Al-Ahly Sporting Club were dissolved on March 27 per rulings of the Supreme Administrative Court.
Two candidates who ran for membership in the EFA board challenged a ruling by the Court of Administrative Judiciary, which had rejected their demand to dissolve the board. The new ruling is based on “flaws” in the electoral process of the board.
