CAIRO: A boat carrying 159 migrants from African nations and Yemen was intercepted Sunday in Egyptian shores during an attempt to travel to southern Europe.
The migrants were from Somalia, Ethiopia, Comoros, Eritrea, Sudan and Yemen, according to a statement by military spokesperson Mohamed Samir.
The naval forces suspected the fishing boat and proceeded with a search. The migrants were escorted to Abu Qir Port in Alexandria, and the crew of three men was arrested.
