CAIRO: The Egyptian Ministry of Interior announced that it has intensified its efforts to find a Saudi businessman who was kidnapped on April 26 in Mediterranean Ismailia city, Youm7 reported.
The Ismailia Security Directorate has formed an investigative team to identify the kidnappers and reach Saudi businessman Hassan A. A. S., 69, directorate head Ali al-Azazi told Youm7 Monday.
According to initial investigations, the businessman, who owns farms and factories for canned juice in Egypt, was in Cairo attending company meetings, Azazi said.
The Saudi national was kidnapped along the Cairo-Ismailia highway while en route to Cairo International Airport where he was due to fly home on April 26, Azazi continued.
Masrawy website reported an anonymous security official in Ismailia Sunday as saying that the Saudi man’s relatives said the kidnappers asked them for money to secure his release.
