CAIRO: Security authorities at Cairo International Airport denied entry to four female Qatari diplomats on Monday for not holding an entry visa, an airport official told Youm7.
The four diplomats were aboard Gulf Air flight no. 71, arriving from Bahrain, said the source.
“The decision came by instructions from the Egyptian Foreign Ministry office at the airport, which instructed that they should return on the same plane, in line with reciprocity visa principles,” the source added.
The ousting of Islamist President Mohamed Morsi in July 2013 sparked a period of tense relations between Egypt and Qatar, which backed the former Islamist regime.
