CAIRO: South Korean Trade Minister Joo Hyunghwan arrived in Cairo Wednesday to discuss investment and economic cooperation with Egypt, Youm7 reported.
Investment opportunities in infrastructure, energy and Suez Canal projects will dominate the discussions; the minister is accompanied by 23 representatives from Korean factories, authorities, the Federation of Korean Industries, the Korea Importers Association, Korea Venture Business Women’s Association and the Korea Electric Power Corporation.
Hyunghwan and his Egyptian counterpart Tarek Qabil will participate in the Egyptian-Korean business forum organized by the Egyptian Businessmen Association and the Korea International Trade Association.
Nine agreements in high education, railways, ports, industry and other fields were signed between the two countries during President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi’s visit to Seoul in March. South Korean investment in Egypt amounted to $341.9 by March 2014.
