Saudi, Jordanian environment ministers in Cairo for disaster risk reduction

CAIRO: Saudi and Jordanian ministers of environment arrived in Cairo Wednesday to participate in a meeting on disaster risk reduction, Youm7 reported.

Abdulaziz bin Omer bin Mohammed Al-Jasser, Saudi head of the Meteorology and Environmental Protection Administration, and Taher Al-Shakhshir, Jordanian Environment Minister will attend the meeting Thursday at the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport (AASTMT.)

The meeting is the third of its kind for the board of directors of the Regional Center for Disaster Risk Reduction.

Participating ministers will tackle activities carried out by the AASTMT in the past and follow up training programs in the Arab region to handle natural disasters related to the area.
