CAIRO: A total of 100 remote healing units for people with disabilities will be established and 200 youth centers will be equipped to accommodate such people, according to a presidential initiative launched Monday.

The initiative to integrate and empower people with disabilities to include them in the job market was launched by Prime Minister Sherif Ismail during the fifth Information Technology Conference for People with Disabilities in the Smart Village on behalf of President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi.

Five percent of Egypt’s governmental jobs are allocated to people with disabilities. Egypt’s 2014 constitution mentioned people with disabilities in eight articles, as well as an article on the National Council for Disable Persons, ensuring them equal opportunities and state care.
