CAIRO: Forecasters warn of a gradual increase in Cairo temperature on Friday, saying it will reach 37 °C during the day and 20°C at night, Youm7 reported.
Hot weather will prevail across Egypt’s northern coast, the Delta and Cairo, while hitting highs in the southern parts of the country.
Along the Mediterranean Sea, Alexandria and Marsa Matrouh cities, temperatures will record 34°C and 36°C respectively.
In Upper Egypt, the temperature is expected to reach 40 and 41, in Luxor and Aswan respectively.
Last summer, dozens of citizens died of sunstrokes in a scorching heat wave and high humidity where the temperature sometimes exceeded 45 °C. The unusual number of deaths prompted health ministry’s officials to warn people against long exposure under the sun, and provide some tips to weather the heat wave like staying hydrated.
