Debris of EgyptAir plane found north of Alexandria

CAIRO: Debris of the EgyptAir plane and some passenger belongings were found by the Egyptian navy and air force 290 kilometers north of Alexandria Friday morning.

According to a statement by military spokesperson Mohamed Samir, the remains of the plane are being recovered while search continues for any other parts.

After the announcement was made, both EgyptAir and the Egyptian presidency offered their condolences to the families of the 66 victims of the crash.

On Thursday, Samir said Greece, France, the U.K., Cyprus and Italy are assisting in the search.
