CAIRO: A gradual increase in temperature is expected to begin Sunday with highs of 38°C degrees Celsius in Cairo, according to Youm7.
Cairo has witnessed a drop in temperature over the past few days with lows of 30°C, after a heat wave swept across the country the previous week.
Forecasters expect the temperature to gradually increase during the day before cooling down at night, especially in the western coastal cities. Cairo is expected to see lows of 23°C on Sunday.
The temperature in the Mediterranean city of Alexandria is expected to record 25°C during the morning hours and 20°C at night.
Meteorological experts said the cities of Upper Egypt will see the highest temperatures; Luxor and Aswan are expected reach 43°C and 44°C respectively.
The Red Sea resorts of Sharm el-Sheikh and Hurghada will also see temperatures of 38°C and 39°C respectively.
