CAIRO: South Korean and French parliamentary delegations will visit the Egyptian parliament this week and will also meet with Egyptian officials, Youm7 reported.
The Korean delegation arrived in Cairo Saturday, while the French delegation will land in Egypt later this week, according to Youm7. Egypt and Korea have recently made efforts to enhance economic ties; earlier this month Korea’s Trade Minister Joo Hyunghwan made a high-profile visit to Egypt.
The Egyptian parliament, which convened for the first time in almost four years last January, has met with a number of foreign parliamentary delegations in the past months.
The 2015 parliament includes 89 women, 36 Copts, and 185 people aged between 25-45 years old out of a total 596 members; the highest number of parliament members for each group in Egypt’s history.
