CAIRO: Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry will meet with a visiting delegation from the Egyptian-French Friendship Association and the French House of Representatives on Tuesday for talks on various domestic issues, bilateral relations and a number of regional issues, Youm7 reported.
The delegation is headed by MP Philippe Folliot, Secretary of the French Parliament’s Defense Committee and President of the Egyptian-French Friendship Association.
Both sides are scheduled to address a number of issues, most important of which is the EgyptAir plane that crashed over the Mediterranean last week en route from France’s Charle De Gaulle airport to Cairo.
A French ship arrived Monday at the search area for the debris and the black boxes from the ill-fated jet, reportedly crashed halfway between Egypt’s Alexandria and Crete Island, according to a statement from the French navy on Monday.
The vessel will mainly focus on detecting signals of the plane’s data recorder at a depth of about 5,000 feet, said the statement, adding that the vessel is equipped with sonar that can pick up the underwater sounds emitted by the recorders.
