CAIRO: An Egyptian was referred to a security investigation Wednesday upon arrival from New York after being deported on completion of his 24 year prison sentence over the case of murdering his American wife, Youm7 reported.
The deportee, 63, carried a travel document issued by the Egyptian consulate. He said left Egypt for the U.S. in 1985.
The man said he is originally from Luxor, Upper Egypt, and that he was deported by the U.S. authorities after finishing his prison term.
He has been referred to security agencies to check the authenticity of his story, according to Youm7. The man’s name has not been disclosed by the Cairo Airport authorities.
