CAIRO: The United States Embassy is hosting Ziad Haider, the Department of State’s Special Representative for Commercial and Business Affairs, from May 31- June 1 to promote the 7th annual Global Entrepreneurship Summit (GES), which will take place June 22-24 in Silicon Valley, California.
Special Representative Haider will meet in Cairo with senior Egyptian officials and business leaders to promote the potential of entrepreneurship and innovation to raise living standards, create jobs, and build strong marketplaces that meet the needs of consumers. He will participate in the “Road to GES 2016: Cairo” event organized by the American University in Cairo (AUC), where he will discuss how the next generation can use technological innovations to tackle future challenges.
Appointed in February, 2016, Special Representative Haider leads the Department of State’s Office of Commercial and Business Affairs’ work to assist and promote U.S. companies doing business overseas, helping create international partnerships that take the best advantage of American business expertise and high standards.
GES 2016 will showcase over 700 entrepreneurs from 170 countries and 250 investors from around the world to create new opportunities for investment, partnership, and collaboration; connect American entrepreneurs and investors with international counterparts to form lasting relationships; and highlight entrepreneurship as means to address some of the most intractable global challenges.
