Jihadist leader: failed assassination of interior minister harms Islamists
By KAMEL KAMEL

Top Islamic Jihadist leader Mohamed Abu Samra criticized the assassination attempt against Interior Minister Mohamed Ibrahim. The Islamist trend will be the main loser of such actions, he said.

He also accused unnamed ‘foreign authorities’ of involvement in the failed attempt, saying they work to harm the interests of the Egyptian state.

“Gamaa Islamiyya and the Jihad group organize peaceful demonstrations,” Abu Samra said in a statement to Youm7. “The [assassination] attempt will not benefit the Islamists, but could harm them,” he added.
