CAIRO: The foreign affairs committee of the Swedish parliament met with Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry in Cairo Wednesday to discuss the regional situation in Libya, Syria and the Palestinian issue.
Shoukry presented the Egyptian vision on resolving the crises and the efforts Cairo exerts regionally and internationally to reach stability in the area, according to a Wednesday statement by the Foreign Ministry.
The minister also briefed the delegation on the development in Egypt on the economic level and major national projects, as well as the democratic transition.
The Swedish delegation is in Egypt to enhance relations with the Egyptian parliament and also meet with Egyptian officials.
A South Korean and a French parliamentary delegation also visited Cairo in May to meet with Egyptian lawmakers.
The Egyptian parliament, which convened for the first time in almost four years last January, has met with a number of foreign parliamentary delegations in the past months.
