Scorching heat hits Egypt; Cairo sees 44°C Saturday

CAIRO: A scorching heat wave is expected to continue across Egypt on Saturday, with Cairo temperature reaching highs of 44 °C, Youm7 quoted forecasters.

Over the past two days, the country has witnessed high temperatures exceeding 40 degrees Celsius, accompanied with high degree of humidity. Cairo has seen lows of 30°C Thursday.

According to meteorological experts, most parts of the country will witness a sweltering heat during the day hours, while at night; the hot weather is expected to slightly relent.

In Luxor and Aswan, tourists cities located in the southern part of the country, the temperature records the highest of 46°C during the day, which is typical for Upper Egypt cities.

Lower temperature will be seen in Mediterranean cities like Alexandria and Marsa Matrouh, recording 36°C and 32°C respectively.
