CAIRO: Three people have been rescued after a fire engulfed a fabrics factory in the 6 October City south of Cairo Tuesday, Youm7 reported.
Ten fire trucks were dispatched to the site of the fire. Firefighters rescued three laborers who were surrounded by the blaze in the factory’s second level, sources from the Giza civil protection administration said.
The cause of the fire is not yet known. However, the police have ordered an inquiry into the blaze.
Over the past two months, a number of fires broke out in different cities with many concentrated in Cairo. The headquarters of the Cairo Governorate, plastics factories in 6 October City and in the Beheira governorate all suffered substantial damages. However, the biggest blazes were reported in Ataba and Ghouria, which are both busy markets selling fabric, plastics and other goods.
