Friday cultural event at al-Zawia al-Hamra Library

The General Organization of Cultural Places will hold a large event at al-Zawia al-Hamra Library in Cairo on Friday at 9 p.m. with a number of cultural and artistic shows.

The event includes a folkloric music show, religious choir, and songs inspired by the heritage of every Egyptian governorate.

Tourism Ministry re-launches successful Red Sea Riviera logo

The Red Sea Rivera logo that previously proved successful to attract tourist will be re-launched by the Tourism Ministry to market resorts in the U.K.

Textiles Museum registers higher turnout in new evening opening

The Textiles Museum has been open in the evening since the beginning of Ramadan, recording a higher visitor turnout than in the morning, head of the Museums Sector Ilham Salah told Youm7.

After the anticipated success of opening a museum in the evening, Salah will file an approval request to the culture minister to keep the museum open for a night shift through the year and possibly do the same with other museums.

Cultural events at Roman Theater in Moez Street Wednesday

The Central Administration for Studies and Researches will hold a number of performances on Moez Street Wednesday, including a puppet show, a performance by Mohamed Abdel Wahab band for Arab music, a performance by Beheira Band for folkloric dance, and other shows from 9:30 P.M. to 12 a.m.

A workshop to make art of colored papers, drawing with sand and body painting will also be held. Similar events will be held Thursday.

Seminar on Persian poet Jalal Ad-Din Rumi at el-Balad book store Wednesday

El-Balad book store in downtown Cairo will hold a seminar on Persian poet Jalal Ad-Din Rumi Wednesday at 9 p.m.; Sufism researcher Khaled Mohamed Abdou will deliver a lecture on the topic.
