Twitter users complain about Egypt transportation

A Twitter hashtag created by Youm7 on the problems of transportation in Egypt was used more than 16,000 times in two hours with people complaining about harassment, increased fare prices by private microbuses, the smell of people in the summer, people who talk for a long time on the phone, and dilapidated buses.

Twitter user Abdel Nabi wrote “bad planning of cities, bribes at local council, overpopulation, and the lack of horizontal urban expansion are behind the problems of transportation of Egypt,” while Mohamed al-Seyoufi suggested that Egypt makes more use of river transportation.

Man claims he owns idea of “Ramez plays with fire” prank show

A lawsuit was filed by a citizen named Karim Farouk to suspend the prank show “Ramez plays with fire” and freeze its income over “plagiarism,” as Farouk claims the show’s idea was his.

Seminar on folkloric celebrations at Coptic Museum

A seminar will be held Thursday at 9 p.m. by the Supreme Council of Culture at the Coptic Museum in Cairo to discuss folkloric celebration in the Egyptian heritage.

1911 Rifaei Mosque’s carpets to be renovated

A temporary monument restoration lab was opened at the 1911 Refaei Mosque in Cairo to renovate the mosque’s carpets in the next few days; the decorations on the carpets are the same as the decorations on the ceiling of the place.

Tannura show at Bayt Al-Sinnari

A free event at 9 p.m. Thursday will be held at Bayt Al-Sinnari in Sayeda Zaiban district of Cairo where Cairo Darawish band will perform a Tannura Sufi show.
