Decline in number of visitors of Egypt’s museums in May
Youm7 reported that the total number of visitors; Egyptians and foreigners, of Egyptian museums in May reached 51,601, with a decline of 16,729 visitors compared to the figures in April, which recorded 68,330 visitors.
Cultural events, performances on 15th day of Ramadan
The National Center for Children’s Culture in collaboration with the Supreme Council of Culture organized a number of arts and cultural events for children Monday as part of celebrations of the 15th day of the holy month of Ramadan.
The events, which will be held at Sayeda Zaynab garden, will include a play, storytelling workshops, and painting on canvas as well as performances by the National Circus crew.
Award ceremony to be held at Egyptian Story Club Monday
Minister of Culture Helmy el-Namnam will attend Monday an award ceremony at the Egyptian Story Club. Writer Youssef el-Sharouny, the honorary president of the club, the writer Nabile Abdel Hamid, the chairman of the board of directors and his deputy writer Mohamed Kotb will also be attending the ceremony.
The club was founded in the 1970s by the late Egyptian writer and minister Youssef al-Sibai.
Charity Art exhibition to help restore Manial Palace
A number of fine artists have participated in an exhibition that presents various paintings and sculptures, in order to allocate the revenues estimated at 160,000 EGP to contribute in the restoration of Manial Palace and Museum, in Cairo.
Arab Contractors Company was assigned by the Minister of Antiquities Khaled el-Anani to carry out the renovation works at the palace, which was built by the cousin of King Farouk in 1901.
Child seen driving loader in 6 of October
A picture was published on Youm7 showing a child driving a loader in the fourth district in 6 of October city. Youm7 has received the picture via its citizen journalism service, through which it receives news, pictures and videos from readers via Facebook, whatsapp 01280003799 and email firstname.lastname@example.org.
The reader, Mohamed Abdullah, who sent the picture blamed a contracting company “for bringing a loader in a residency compound in different to safety, traffic rules and standards.”
