Al-Azhar official denies religiously prohibiting ‘Pokemon Go’

Undersecretary of Al-Azhar institute Abbas Shoman denied statements circulated on his behalf suggesting that he said that the newly invented ‘Pokemon Go’ game is religiously prohibited, according to Youm7.

Shoman said that he just warned of excess use of the game as it could pre-occupy people’s time, distract them from their tasks and expose their lives to danger if they are playing it on the streets.

 

Negotiations with Russia on Egypt’s 1st nuclear power plant at final stage: source

An official source at the Ministry of Electricity told Youm7 that negotiations with the Russian side are at the last stage, ahead of signing a deal with Russia’s state-owned nuclear firm Rosatom that will be in charge of implementing the project.

The source revealed that President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi gave strict instructions to finish negotiations by the end of the month; the plant will be established in Dabaa city on the Mediterranean coast.

 

Minister: we will not accept int’l arbitration in Egypt’s renewable energy projects

Minister of Electricity Mohamed Shaker announced that he will not allow international arbitration in renewable energy projects “because they are Egyptian projects, established on Egyptian land,” in statements to Youm7.

Shaker said that the deal prepared by the Renewable Energy Authority stipulates the condition of “local arbitration” between investors, citing the reason for rejecting requests by some investors to resort to international arbitration.

He added that there are around 60 renewal energy projects that including generating electricity from wind and solar energy.

 

Court ruling against ‘Shawmeng’ admin Saturday  

A student accused of launching a Facebook page famous as “Shawmeng” dedicated to leaking high school exams will be facing a court ruling Saturday.

Ahmed, 19 yrs, has denied charges drawn against him; however, the prosecution has provided evidence that he was administrating the page among others.

Last year, a presidential decree imposed one year jail to those who leak exams.

 

Passenger busted at Sharm el-Sheikh Airport for hiding bladed weapon inside shoes

A passenger who carries the nationality of an Arab country was busted Sharm el-Sheikh Airport for hiding a bladed weapon inside his shoes.

Ibrahim, 30yrs, was barred from traveling and referred to prosecution.
