Parliament general session to tackle high school exam leaks

Member of Parliament Hussein Abu el-Wafa told Youm7 that the general session scheduled to be held Sunday will tackle different issues, including high school exam leaks, where the Minister of Education will be questioned.

He also said that the session will include briefings on sanitation crisis and the hike in prices of essential commodities.

 

Anger over police assault of MP; calls for rapid investigations

Member of Parliament Margret Azer said she will file a police report before top prosecutor against police assault of MP Zeinab Salem at Nasr City police station, calling for rapid investigation into the incident.

Azer said that she supports all actions that will be taken by the Parliament Speaker against the Interior Minister over the assault incident.

 

Yusuf al-Qaradawi shows support to Erdogan against “failed” coup

Qatar-based Egyptian Islamist scholar Yusuf al-Qaradawi wrote on his Twitter account in support with Recep Tayyib Erdoğan against an attempted military coup.

The preacher, who was handed down prison terms and a death sentence in absentia, said “God will help Turkey and its people who chose freedom;” using the hashtag “Turkey’s coup fails.”

Egypt has addressed the Qatari authorities to extradite the fugitive scholar.

At least 42 people were killed Friday in Ankara in violence erupted in the wake of the coup, according to Washington Post. Thousands of people have descended to the streets to show support for the elected government of Erdoğan.

 

Regeni, Sisi’s peace initiative on top of Sunday’s agenda at Parliament

Dalia Yousef, the undersecretary of foreign relations sub-committee at the parliament, said that the committee will tackle Sunday developments of the murder of the Italian student Julio Regeni, President Sisi’s peace initiative, and the repercussions of Israel’s recent visits to the African continent on the Egyptian national security.

 

Parliament to discuss draft law of Civil Servant Sunday

Member of Parliament El-Sayed el-Sherif said that among issues to be discussed during the parliament’s general session Sunday will be the government’s report on the amendments carried out on the draft law of Civil Servant, Youm7 reported.
